The Cat Empire

So the Cat Empire rolled into town on sunday night. I have to admit on the world wide web, that i'm not a big fan of theirs, never have been and never will be. However, as soon as they said " G'day where from Melbourne", I did have a fondness for a little while for the band.Their live performance was very cool that's for sure. They got the crowd into it big time and everybody danced the night away, alot more than Mr.Ben "i'm a smartmouth from sydney" Lee. Anyhew, Patricia, myself and our mates happened to get very drunk and enjoy the show!!!! SO, it's off to NY for me and Patricia, so you can just imagine what the next post on this blog will be about.....................NETS.

Junior Hockey

Behind our little casa de zomer (see previous posts), we have the Banff Hockey Academy. It houses the whole team of youngsters who come to Banff to train hard and go to school here also. So a few of us decided to go up and check out the boys play at the rec centre and what a game it was. Watching live hockey at any level to me is amazing. I have to admit there is no faster, tougher or more skilled game in the world. The boys played well and played hard but just lost in the 3rd period. However, the 100 strong crowd, music, national anthem, and mayhem on the ice, ensured that this new hockey fan will be going to every game they play!!!

Lozza and Lachie

So I come home from work one night, and Patricia has a huge cardboard box on her lap and a massive smile on her face. The phrase was "Lozza's package arrived". Throwing me a box of Pizza Shapes I fall to my feet and begin to savage the packet. Not only did Lozza and Lachie send us a package, it included Milo, Vegemite, BBQ Shapes, a VB singing bottle opener, calendar of Aussie pubs, a Waltzing Matilda tea towel, Tim Tams, Herald-Suns, bush soap, and the great matching flannies!! So here's a big Canadian thanks eh for the bloody great pack, you made both our days that's for sure!!! Cheers guys!!

Obsessed Fan Part 2.

Patricia and I booked a cheap return flight to New York for $340, we decided to go for Halloween so that should be great. So, in my New Jersey mode for the night, I proceeded to jump on the internet, and get tickets for not only a pre-season game vs the New York Knicks, but also, the season opener against the Toronto Raptors. For the Knicks game we are in the bleachers, but for the real deal: Nicko gets row 14. That's right, figured it could be a long time til I see my boys again!!!!!!! Let's go Nets.................Lets go!!!!

Wildlife Sanctuary

Another deer, another day. This little guy was crossing a creek near our house, just another reminder of the wildlife roaming our little town of Banff.
